Mitho Privacy Policy

Mitho is a meal recommendation app. It helps users choose meal ideas based on budget, mood, favorites, dietary preferences, and optional daily meal reminders.

Data Stored on Your Device

Mitho stores the following information locally on your device:

• Display name and avatar choice
• Budget and vibe filters
• Dietary preferences
• Favorite meals
• Theme and language preference
• Daily reminder settings

The app works fully offline with this local data. No account registration is required to use Mitho.

Data Synced to Our Servers

To back up your data and keep it in sync across devices, Mitho stores the following on our backend (hosted by Supabase):

• An account identifier. By default this is an anonymous, randomly generated ID that is not linked to your name, email, or phone number.
• Your profile: display name, avatar choice, and dietary preferences.
• Your favorite meals.
• Usage history: which meals the "Surprise Me" feature suggested and when.

If you choose to sign in with Google, your Google account email and basic profile information are also associated with your account so you can restore your data on other devices.

Data We Do Not Collect

Mitho does not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, payment information, or advertising identifiers. Mitho contains no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

Sharing and Selling

Mitho does not sell personal data and does not share it with third parties, except for the service providers required to operate the app: Supabase (hosts our database and authentication) and Google (processes sign-in when you choose "Sign in with Google").

If you choose to share a meal recommendation, the app uses your device's system share sheet. You control which app or contact receives that shared message.

Notifications

Mitho can schedule optional local daily meal reminders. Notification permission is requested only when you turn on reminders. You can disable reminders in the app or manage notification permission in your device settings.

Data Retention and Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all server-side data (profile, favorites, usage history) at any time: open the Profile tab → Account → Delete Account. The same option is available in the Mitho web app.

Local preferences remain on your device until you change them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling Mitho removes local app data managed by the operating system. Signing out keeps data on your device but detaches it from the Google account.

Children

Mitho is a general food recommendation utility and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect children's personal information.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Server-side data is protected by row-level security so each account can only access its own records. Mitho never sees or stores your Google password, and no payment information or precise location is requested by the app.
