Sandwich

Sandwich is one of the easiest choices when you want something fast and not too heavy.
Ingredients
- 4 slices Sandwich bread
- 2 tbsp Butter, softened
- 2 tbsp Mayonnaise or green chutney
- 1 Tomato, thinly sliced
- 1/2 Cucumber, thinly sliced
- 4 Lettuce leaves
- 1/2 Onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp Chaat masala
- to taste Salt and black pepper
Steps
- Makes 2 sandwiches with no cooking at all. Salt the tomato and cucumber slices in a colander for 5 minutes, then pat them dry, so the bread does not go soggy.
- Butter all four slices right to the edges, which seals the crumb against the moisture.
- Spread mayonnaise or green chutney on two of the slices.
- Layer lettuce first, then cucumber, tomato and onion, seasoning with salt, pepper and chaat masala as you go.
- Close the sandwiches, press down lightly, trim the crusts if you like, and cut each one diagonally.
